Restoration Ministries (RM) is a Christ-centered ministry to American women and girls who are sex trafficking survivors within the Washington D.C. area. Our purpose is to provide long-term healthy relationships with those who have been sexually exploited and help them build a new support system through the body of Christ.
Prostitution Intervention/Prevention Program (PIPP): The PIPP focuses on meeting girls (10-17 years of age) who have been trafficked (or are at high risk for being trafficked), at different institutions in the process of their recovery and advocating for their future. Currently weekly PIPP programs are conducted at Youth Services Center (YSC) and Psychiatric Institute of Washington (PIW). The PIPP encourages individual expression and growth through different group activities; including discussions, crafts, and games. RM is then able to interview and assess the girls and provide case management to those who have experienced trafficking and begin providing long term services and support, including mentoring, court advocacy, counseling and collaborating with other social service providers on the long term plan and placement for the girl.
Requirements:
- Female and at least 25 years of age
- Enrolled or graduated from a Masters level program in social work, counseling or divinity
- Complete application- deadline is May 1, 2012
- Pass background check
- Availability June 1- August 31
- Have own transportation
- Housing not provided
- Stipend is $6,000
